Again, I think it is a bit of just getting lucky, but I would imagine that it would take longer for BB or scuf to reconcile a problem compared to just returning it to target or something. Also so far, I haven't had any issues with my BB, but I have seen posts of ppl having problems right away. Also, as I mentioned my BB is slimmer and a bit lighter since I opted to have the rumbles removed. These were a gamechanger for me for FPS games and I don't think I can go back. Once you get past the fact that the options you choose are "permanent", battle beaver has some great options that you don't get with the ES2 such as cosmetic options and most importantly the smart bumpers/triggers. However, I still prefer my battlebeaver after using both. All and all, I think it is a great "bang-for-your-buck" controller. Options such as interchangable thumbsticks and thumbstick tension adjustment are nice, but I use controlfreaks so that's not as big of a deal to me. Also, can't beat the price and availability. I think buying from a big retailer and having access to a good return policy is the play here. However, I have heard of ones arriving DOA or failing after days. I didn't start having stick drift and whatnot till about 1 year of daily use, and even today it is still usable. For the ES2 I think they can be very hit or miss. ES2 is def a bit "chunkier", and I personally liked the feel of the paddles a bit better than the buttons. Both were/are great controllers in my opinion. I've used both the elite series 2 (~1.5 years) and a battle beaver with four back buttons (~4 months). This content will be removed all other days regardless of upvotes or awards.
